1. Vintage Memories.
Found some old windup toys from my childhood.  That’s a very long time ago.  The little van was my favorite, but I also really loved Officer Big Mac car.  The other one on the right was a cheapo plastic snap on car that for some reason still survived all other toys.  I had to bring them out display them.  One day I’ll pass them on to my kids.

  2. Having 5MP in my pocket now, it’s hard not to use the iPhone camera. While this blog is primarily photos with my actual DSLR, ill from time to time post something like this or as in the previous shot of the shears, one just can’t help themselves.

Just like I couldn’t help myself when I saw this and sadly had to use a watermarked app but its the joke that counts right?

  3. Relic of my late uncle, the barber. His name was Sixto. I always thought that was a great name and probably the second most memorable thing about him.

He used to cut my hair as a kid when I lived in Mexico for a while. I can barely remember what we talked about although I doubt it was anything of substance considering how young I was.

Still having this and holding it in my hands brings back a plethora of imagery from those times. These are the things that we should value the most.

  4. Not gonna bore you guys with more Civil War pics but here’s one to end it off and possibly my favorite one.  Here’s to finding more of these great events in the future all over the U.S.

  5. A tonic for all your ailments.

Though I think most of it was just different amounts of opium back in the day.

  7. Scoping out the battlefield.

  8. Cannon fire.

The sound was quite deafening.  I could only imagine how the soldiers there handled the thunderous sound.  The first shot took everyone by surprise.  And the “bombardment” continued throughout the battle until the Union was overrun.

The second picture, although nothing amazing, caught at least the smoke ring up in the right hand corner left behind from the blast.  It was interesting to see many rings flying up into the air like halos.

  9. Watching the battle commence was pretty surreal.  One minute you feel like you’re at a sports game viewing two opposing teams trying to win over land.  But no one was cheering.  We were all mesmerized.  And frankly at times almost worried that a stray bullet or cannon might hit us.  Even though part of the battle was so far off, it was also like watching a movie only you were in it, and part of it.
